Derby Day

TAMPA BAY – Power-Pole®, Tampa Bay Waterkeeper, Skinny Water Culture and the Tampa Bay Estuary Program will host the Tampa Bay Debris Derby on Saturday, November 4th at E.G. Simmons Park. The tournament will bring together teams to battle for the title of "Debris Derby Heavyweight Champion."

The Debris Derby is a unique way to promote environmental stewardship throughout the Tampa Bay community. Teams of friends, families, colleagues, and neighbors will compete by land or sea to collect the most marine debris. By turning the boring chore of trash collection into a fun, competitive event, the Debris Derby will let community members take pride in helping to maintain a healthy Tampa Bay.

Teams will earn raffle tickets for each bag of trash they weigh in. The more trash you collect, the more chances you have to win! Special prizes donated by Power-Pole, Costa Del Mar, and more will be awarded for the strangest item and most trash by weight. Participants must register to receive a FREE Tampa Bay Debris Derby shirt and lunch donated by La Segunda.
