Pinellas Legislative Delegation to hold sewage spill workshop Sep. 19th

The estimate of what the area's utilities have dumped into its streets and waterways has now reached 253 million gallons.

State Senator Jack Latvala, R-Clearwater, the chairman of the Pinellas County legislative delegation, announced that the group will hold a workshop on the county's recent sewage problems from 3 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19, at the Karen A. Steidinger Auditorium, which is located at the Fish & Wildlife Research Institute at 100 Eighth Ave. SE, on the campus of the University of South Florida St. Petersburg. Presentations will be made by officials from the county, its cities, and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. The public is invited to attend, but there may be limited time for public comment.
