USF shark expert to speak at Dali Museum on August 12th
On Tuesday, August 12th at 7 p.m., USF Professor Philip Motta of the College of Arts and Sciences Department of Integrative Biology will discuss his lab's research on the feeding biology of sharks and bony fishes. From tracking studies of Goliath grouper, to the bite force in bull sharks, his research investigates the fascinating world of fish feeding and the many adaptations for prey capture in sharks. From whale sharks to hammerhead sharks, Motta and his team of students have studied feeding for more than 25 years. His classes in fish and shark biology allow USF students to partake in the research through field trips.
