TBEP offers 'Leave No Trace' Workshop

The Tampa Bay Estuary Program is partnering with the Leave No Trace program to provide a workshop on Outdoor Ethics on Thursday, July 12, from 9 a.m. to noon at Fort De Soto Park.

The workshop is designed for educators, college students, Scouts and Scout leaders, outdoor professionals, trail crews, hiking club members and others interested in Leave No Trace skills and ethics.

The workshop covers the seven principles of Leave No Trace:

• Plan Ahead and Prepare
• Travel and Camp on Durable Surfaces
• Dispose of Waste Properly
• Leave What You Find
• Minimize Campfire Impacts
• Respect Wildlife
• Be Considerate of Other Visitors

The cost for the workshop is only $4. Payment is required at the time of registration using PayPal and the deadline for registration is July 2.
