Tampa Bay Water is offering source water protection mini-grants totaling $20,000. Aimed at Tampa Bay area non-profit groups, community groups, schools and universities, the mini-grants will help fund projects and activities that relate to protecting the public drinking water supply sources.

The grants are available for 2011 and the deadline to apply is Oct. 29, 2010 by 5 p.m. Information on the grant program and application materials can be found at Tampa Bay Water's website or by contacting Ivana Blankenship.

In 2010, Tampa Bay Water awarded grants that funded events such as the Tampa Bay Living Green Expo. The expo was organized to bring people and businesses together to demonstrate various products and measures that advance a sustainable environment.
