Hillsborough County to benefit from eight Community Education Grants
Eight Hillsborough County projects expected to reach more than 175,000 people were awarded Community Education Grants from the Southwest Florida Water Management District. These grants offer up to $5,000 to help fund projects that provide communities an opportunity to learn about water resources.
Recipients of the grants were the Fishhawk Ranch Homeowners Association, Hillsborough County Extension (2 grants), the Sustany Foundation, the Cockroach Bay Users Group, the Manatee Viewing Center, the Range Cattle Research and Education Center, and Kayak Nature Adventures.
The overall goal of the grant program, funded by SWFWMD's Basin Boards, is to actively engage adults in water-related issues pertaining to conservation, protection and preservation.
