Public Hearing on Proposed Fertilizer Ban Jan. 19

On Tuesday, Jan. 19th at 6:30 pm, the Pinellas Board of County Commissioners will hear public comment on the proposed ordinance that would ban sale or application of fertilizers containing nitrogen or phosphorus during the summer rainy season. The ban would affect areas in unincorporated Pinellas County. A retail sales ban would start in May 2011. Consumers could not apply fertilizer in the summer beginning with June to September 2010. The meeting will take place in the fifth floor Assembly Room of the County Courthouse, 315 Court Street, Clearwater.
